Telegram Web in your browser — sign in from any device, no install

The Web edition of Telegram loads in seconds inside Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. It shares the same cloud chat history as the native apps, so your conversations show up instantly — perfect for shared computers, temporary workstations or a quick second session.

Why open Telegram Web in your browser instead of installing an app?

Web is the fastest way to check Telegram on a machine that isn't yours — a hotel PC, a school computer or a laptop in a meeting room. Nothing is written to disk aside from the browser cache, and signing out cleanly closes the session. It also doubles as a lightweight second window on your own computer when you want a temporary read-only view.

Supported browsers and modes

  • Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc)
  • Mozilla Firefox and Firefox ESR
  • Apple Safari on macOS and iPadOS
  • Vivaldi, Yandex and other Chromium forks

You can choose between two front-ends: WebK (feature-rich, more polished animations) and WebA (lightweight and closer to the mobile layout). Both share the same account and message history.

How to sign in to Telegram Web

  1. Click the Open Telegram Web button above. A new tab opens with the login screen.
  2. Choose Log in by phone number and enter your number, or pick Log in by QR code and scan the on-screen code with the mobile app.
  3. Confirm the 5-digit code delivered to an existing session, then optionally enter your two-step verification password.
  4. Your chats, media and channels load from the cloud within seconds.

Handy keyboard shortcuts

  • Ctrl + K — open global search
  • Ctrl + 1..9 — jump to chat folder
  • Ctrl + Shift + — go to next chat
  • Esc — close the currently open media viewer
  • Ctrl + Enter — send message

Add it to your desktop as a web app

Once Telegram Web is open, most Chromium browsers let you install it as a standalone Progressive Web App: click the three-dot menu and choose Install Telegram Web. You'll get an app-style window without browser chrome, a taskbar shortcut and native notifications — all without installing anything from a store.

Privacy notes when using shared browsers

  • Always sign out from Settings → Log out before closing the tab on a public computer.
  • Enable a two-step verification password so a stolen session cannot be reused without it.
  • Review active sessions from your phone: Settings → Devices — terminate any browser you don't recognise.

Troubleshooting Telegram Web

If the interface fails to load, force-refresh with Ctrl+F5 and clear the site's cookies. Certain corporate proxies block WebSocket connections — try a personal hotspot or ask your network admin to allow web.telegram.org. On Safari, make sure cross-site tracking prevention is not blocking the login popup.
